Sometimes still, after 2 years, something will happen in my life and I'll think, oh, I have got to call my mom and tell her about this.  My mom was an amazing woman of great strength.  I'm so proud that she was my mom and my friend.  I miss her so much!

I had never heard of this disease when the doctor gave us her diagnoses.  Please help in the fight to find a cure.

OTHER CAUSES THAT HAVE
AFFECTED MY LIFE PERSONALLY

My brother and I are living proof that this program works!
He received his transplant in 2004 and is doing very well and I have not had any complications from the donor end!!

TTTS - Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome
Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome occurs specifically in identical twins sharing the same placenta. It is estimated to occur in 5-10% of identical twin pregnancies. In twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, the twins share not only the same placenta but some of the same circulation. This allows the transfusion of blood from one twin (the donor) to the other (the recipient). The donor twin becomes small and anemic, and the recipient twin becomes large and overloaded with blood.
I lost one of my triplets to this syndrome - at the time there wasn't much information on it.  The above link is a great source for information if you or anyone you know is experiencing this now.
